Weddings by Captain Farmer
Have you ever thought of being married by a real ship captain? Well here is your chance. Captain Farmer is an ordained chaplain legally able to solemnize religious wedding ceremonies. He has been married himself to the same beautiful woman for over 47 years and firmly believes that all marriages require work but are WELL worth the effort. Let him help start you on your way to a successful marriage with a meaningful religious ceremony. He is also available for recommitment and committing of ashes ceremonies.
Ceremonies are available aboard TRACE 1 (groups up to 19), aboard THE STAR riverboat (call 865-525-7827 for arrangements and pricing or see the Riverboat web site) or at the location of your choice. Weddings onboard are available dock side, underway, or at a location you prefer along the river.
We have several "standard" sets of vows to suggest or you may use your own. Music is available aboard TRACE 1 and THE STAR or you may provide your own CD or iPod for sound system input. We can provide limited ceremony pictures aboard TRACE 1 or you are welcome to bring your own photographer.
We can provide cakes to your specification or you may provide your own. Decorating can be handled by us or you may provide your own (no open flame). No rice or birdseed is allowed for safety reasons but we can provide balloons.
We can provide food for receptions or rehearsal parties ranging from light hors d’oeuvres to full meals. You may bring your own Champaign (corkage fees may apply) or it is available aboard THE STAR riverboat.
Talk with us well in advance at no cost to see the many options available. Basic wedding fees for Captain Farmer are $100 for the ceremony (plus mileage over 15 miles) and two-hour charters aboard TRACE 1 start at $200 for up to 19 passengers.
